After years of having a minimal web presence (or let’s be honest, no web presence), I finally decided to build a proper personal website. But I didn’t want just another boring portfolio with a white background and sans-serif fonts.
WHY ARCADE THEME?
Growing up in the 80s and 90s, arcades were magical places. The glow of CRT screens, the cacophony of 8-bit sound effects, the satisfaction of getting your initials on the high score board. That aesthetic never left me.
So when I sat down to design this site, I asked myself: what if the web still felt like that? What if visiting a website was an experience, not just an information transaction?
THE TECH STACK
This site is built with:
- Astro - Static site generation with islands architecture
- TypeScript - Because types are good, actually
- Press Start 2P - The most authentic retro font
- Pure CSS - No frameworks, just vibes
WHAT TO EXPECT
